VOTE NICK SICKLER FOR PURDUE ALUMNI REGIONAL DIRECTOR

My desire to serve on the board stems from my interest in helping others and my loyalty to Purdue. I would like to continue to be an advocate not only for our current members but for all of the University’s alumni and friends. I believe that my diverse background of being a university student- employee, a management teaching assistant, a student organization officer, a local club officer, and current Purdue Alumni Board member provides me with a unique background that allows me to connect and interact with alumni at multiple levels. Successful improvements are not possible without good communication.

Being a voice for our alumni and friends is extremely important as Purdue University and the Purdue Alumni continues to grow and evolve. This development would not be possible without the aid and support from all of our Purdue family. It would be my honor to continue to serve on the board and represent one of those voices.

Final Thought: Having served for 14 years as a Purdue Alumni Trustee, I had anticipated that this would be my final year on the Board. However, as I approach the end of this lengthy term, Purdue is in the process of selecting a new president, easily the most important duty of a Trustee. Added to that responsibility, the University is deeply involved in serious discussions related to the academic mission of the institution, the question of affordability for Indiana and out-of-state students, the role of our Regional Campuses, and the increasingly important and expanding role of the Purdue Research Foundation. Having been involved in each of these issues, I feel that my experience may be helpful in addressing these critical issues and helping to take Purdue to even greater prominence in this 21st century.
