Job Summary

Help carry out the mission of the Purdue Alumni Association by managing programming and services for recent graduates (less than five years since graduating from Purdue) and assisting with related marketing. You will work to develop loyalty through programs, services, and marketing, leading to membership in the association.

Additionally, you will work on at least two of our staff working groups, created to address strategic initiatives and constituents. The work this position performs will assist with effort to drive membership.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement programming and services for recent graduates. This will include advising the Recent Graduate Alumni Committee to help with programming, communication, and feedback. Virtual platforms are a key focus area for programming and services. (20%)
  • Collaborate with the director of Alumni Career Services to create and implement a mentorship program. Your position will specifically focus on engaging recent graduates for the program. (20%)
  • Work with the clubs and networks team to encourage participation and leadership of recent graduates in club/network programs and boards. (20%)
  • Serve on at least two working groups that will address recent graduate initiatives, with focus on membership, income, programming, and services. (20%)
  • Assist the marketing and communications team in communications strategy. (10%)
  • Help with a variety of Purdue Alumni projects and activities throughout the year. (5%)
  • Manage relationships with Purdue Alumni partners. (5%)


  • Bachelor’s degree required


  • 3–5 years’ experience in higher education, alumni relations, nonprofit work, recruiting and sales, marketing, or related fields
  • Experience in event planning

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Program development and implementation experience, especially as it relates to young people ages 22–30
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-changing and evolving organization
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to new directives
  • Willingness to work some nights and weekends
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Microsoft Office experience
