Job Summary

This position will extend the Alumni Association’s mission and brand through the creation, growth, and continued development of alumni communities and serve as primary liaison between regional networks and the Purdue Alumni Association. This position will develop relationships with committed volunteer leaders, support and oversee regional club / network volunteer leaders and club recognition programs, and assist club leaders in strategic initiatives to grow participation and membership.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain existing club / network structures by serving as main liaison for volunteer alumni leaders in clubs and networks throughout a specified geographic area
    • Provide training to club / network leaders on technology used to communicate with alumni (30%)
      • Provide guidance on club / network web portal, policies and procedures, and scholarship applications
    • Facilitate club / network communications (25%)
    • Travel to club events (20%)
    • Provide and facilitate public speaking for club events and assist in successful event planning (10%)
  • Develop and cultivate emerging clubs / networks within specified geographic area (15%)


Bachelor’s degree required (Business Management, Hospitality, Organizational Leadership, Communication, Marketing or related field)


Minimum 3–5 years’ experience:

  • Event planning, customer service, sales, or marketing
  • Volunteer management and training
  • Public speaking
  • Experience with Advance or other customer marketing software or database management preferred

  • Ability to lead and influence others
  • Strong organizational skills, including project leadership and management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to relate well with people from various cultures and backgrounds
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new technology
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment


Up to 20% travel expected; this job is located in West Lafayette.
